Oia, Santorini

Oia, (pronounced Ia) is the most famous of all villages of Santorini and possibly, the most beautiful village in a whole Greece. Santorini famed for its quiet life and fantastic sunsetis no doubt the most romantic and dramatic place. Thepicturesque village of Oia situated on top of an impressive cliff offers truly magnificent view over the volcano of Palia and Nea Kameni.  At the pinnacle point of Oia is the ruined castle, called Fort Londsa that serves as a lookout point with an unobstructed 360-degree view. The old mill is yet another attraction and it often appears on postcards and in guide books. What became a popular attraction here is sunset viewing. On a good, clear day, it is a special event and it is worth going to the Sunset Seranade point to experience it. It may be crowded but the combination of a warm beautiful evening light painting the white houses and the sun going down slowly is very memorable.
