Teide National Park is a national park located in Tenerife. The park is centered on Mount Teide, the highest mountain of Spain. A unique landscape of craters, volcanoes and rivers of petrified lava, surrounds the impressive silhouette of Teide Volcano that stands at 3,718 m. above sea level. The best way to reach the highest point of the peak is by cable car. Once at the top, you can walk around and take in the amazing sights. Driving up to the national park is an interesting experience; from the sunny south coast you drive up towards a town called Vilaflor with its alpine-like scenery. As you travel higher still above the clouds, the terrain changes dramatically and suddenly becomes an amazing lunar landscape. The whole area offers incredible scenery and catches the imagination of the visitors, due to centuries of eruptions that have generated a wealth of landscapes unrivalled in the world.
