Oia, Santorini

Kreta1031

Along the cliff of Oia (pronounced Ia), situated on the island of Santorini, some houses have been delved into the porous volcanic rock.  These unique houses visible from far combined with a fantastic  scenery create typically Greek views. The town is worldwide known for its picturesque architecture, with the elements of medieval Venetian houses. Adding to the charm of the town are  famous Oia sunsets; one of the most beautiful in the world, that’s true, but unfortunately, that works like a magnet for tourists and the castle at dawn is filled with them.  All in all, the white-washed villages, blue-domed churches and sunsets splashed with pastels will steal your heart, no daubt!
